Hi people. For those who care.
I am almost half way done with my treck through veterinary nursing school.
Since last update:
I’m 21 now!
Other than that, I’ve been focusing on school.
Almost done with term 2.. Which means I have put 44 hours in at an actual vet clinic.
I have…. Gotten many successful blood draws (most of them jugular). Inserted an endotracheal tube in a 120lb rott (AWESOME). Treated a guinea pig with scurvey. Watched an FHO (femoral head osteoctomy; and can’t get that hammering sound of bone out of my head), and much much more!
In a little under 3 weeks I start finals, which means on to 3rd term! (anesthesia, surgery, dentals). I’m so excited!
I have met so many awesome people in my program. They’re so amazing. We’ll definitely be life long friends.
My third clinic will probably be the one I take my own dogs to… I have really gotten in there. My veterinarian has really taken a liking towards me.
Anyway, that is all.

I am officially half way through my first term as a vet tech student!! Finished all my midterms with A’s! I am officially an honor roll student for the first time in my life.
And…. New Hello Kitty scrubs!!
I started my first clinic rotation at a vet hospital yesterday… Pretty uneventful. I helped with a lot of restraining for procedures… Cystocentesis (so cool!), blood draws, catheter insertion, suture removal. A 30-something lb lab came in after eating over 8oz of coffee beans… Had to induce vomiting (the lab seriously smelled like someone was brewing a fresh pot of French roast), we had to give him like 260 ml of activated charcoal… Messy messy messy.
Anyway, I’m having the time of my life!
I also learned how to draw blood…. Did a successful blood draw on Lola on my first try!
My dog is in the Top 3 Project Dog SF Bay area Golden category! Please vote for him! To do so, you need to click the link, which will bring you to Facebook. “Like” Project DOG, (it’s a good like), and like Liam’s photo!
Our veterinarian owns a ranch. With not only cows and horses… but ZEBRAS!

So I totally started veterinary technology school last week.
And got an A on my first test!
Boo yeah!
You’re jealous because you don’t have a class cat, bunny, guinea pigs, rats, and a bearded dragon. And bring your animals to school days. :D
